Welcome to Troop 628's website!
Hello! Welcome to Scouts BSA Troop 628 in Rumson, NJ. We meet on Thursday at 7:30 pm during the school year.
If you're a girl who is interested in going camping, having cool experiences in the outdoors, and the great sense of accomplishment you get from learning new skills, please consider joining Troop 628!
Thinking about joining?
We're always looking for new Scouts to join our Troop! If you're between the ages of 11 and 17, the first step is to send us an email letting us know of your interest. You can reach us here: membership@rumsonbsa.org
After that, you should stop by one of our weekly Troop meetings so that you can meet us and see what we're all about. When you stop by, we'll get you an application form, and your journey to becoming an Eagle Scout will start!
What we're planning
Some examples of ideas in the works include:
Camping: Quail Hill, Winterburg, Forestburg Scout Reservation and even Sandy Hook and Hartshorne Woods. The Troop has a goal to offer 20 nights of camping per year.
Trips: Biking, Hiking, Canoeing, local Camporees, and looking ahead to High Adventure at Philmont, Seabase, Northern Tier and the Summit
Activities: Orienteering, Klondike Derby, Holiday Party, Courts of Honor
Training: Leadership Skills Training and all of the Council run training like Den Chief, Patrol Leader Skills and NYLT
